A small masterpiece standing in the heart of Portoferraio has three tiers of 5111 boxes and is one of the many reminders of Napoleons short stay on Elba. Built in 1814 by using and converting a deconsecrated church once dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine, it was recently restored.

The curtain, painted by Vincenzo Antonio Revelli (who also painted the frescoes in Napoleon’s homes) has been preserved from Napoleonic times.
